Our Aims

"To promote the welfare of older people living in the London Borough of Croydon
in any manner which now is or hereafter may be deemed by law to be
charitable.”

How we achieve this .......
The Croydon 60+ Benevolent Fund Ltd can provide financial support, by means
of a grant, to successful applicants who demonstrate that the money will be
applied to, and for the benefit of, local residents in Croydon who are aged 60 and
over. Grants can be awarded for specific purposes, such as help towards the cost
of projects to provide improvements to new or existing services or infrastructure,
or one off events.
Applicants are required to complete and submit an Application Form, having first
carefully read the accompanying Application Process (Both documents are
available on the 'Downloads' page).
All Applications will be reviewed by the board of directors.
Not all applications will be successful. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified
giving a reason for the refusal. However, unsuccessful applicants can re-apply if
they can meet the requirements defined in the Process.
Successful applicants will be notified and will be required to provide evidence of
how the grant was spent and how the success of the use of the grant was
measured.
We may ask that successful applicants allow us to publicise the successful use of
the grant to help others understand how the grants can benefit the recipients and
to encourage them to apply.
Our funding is limited by decisions of the board of directors and grants are
normally given in a range up to £1,000.00 unless exceptional circumstances
allow additional consideration.
A maximum annual fund amount has been allocated to provide grants. Once that
limit is reached, no further grants can be considered during that year except by a
specific resolution of the board of directors.
